{"id":476,"date":"2025-08-17T21:59:56","date_gmt":"2025-08-17T21:59:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wechcpc.ca\/?page_id=476"},"modified":"2025-08-17T22:00:00","modified_gmt":"2025-08-17T22:00:00","slug":"clothing-donation-policy","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/wechcpc.ca\/index.php\/clothing-donation-policy\/","title":{"rendered":"CLOTHING DONATION POLICY"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>WECHCPC is pleased to accept donations of clothing and other items to assist us in supporting the wellness of neighbours experiencing homelessness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We accept the following items:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Toques or other warm headgear<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Scarves and neck-warmers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cold-weather gloves<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cold-weather socks<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Handwarmers and footwarmers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Emergency blankets<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rain ponchos<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bandanas<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Facecloths<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wool or other warm blankets<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Personal hygiene items (soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, feminine hygiene products)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Please note the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>We<\/strong> <strong>do not<\/strong> <strong>accept other items<\/strong> (shoes, shirts, pants, sweaters, etc.), due to our limited space and concentration on providing <em>emergency<\/em> items.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Clothing and blankets must be<\/strong> <strong>laundered<\/strong> before they will be accepted, in order to reduce the risk of disease transmission.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Donated items must be in<\/strong> <strong>good condition<\/strong> (no tears or holes, not threadbare) and protect the wearer against the elements. We will not accept items we deem ineffective for the needs of our patrons.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Items must be brought during business hours<\/strong>, 10-6 Monday-Saturday. Items left outside our door will be discarded as waste.
